General Information

Ali Imanpour joined the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering at the University of Alberta in 2017. Prof. Imanpour was a postdoctoral fellow at McGill University before joining the University of Alberta. From 2006 to 2010, he worked as a structural engineer for the Deputy of Research at the University of Tehran, Iran. Prof. Imanpour is a licensed professional engineer in Alberta and Québec. He teaches undergraduate and graduate courses in behavior and design of structures. His current research activities include the development of seismic design procedures for steel framed structures using analytical and experimental methods. He is also interested in the development of sustainable and resilient structural systems including rocking steel frames, prefabricated steel panels and composite steel-timber structures. Research positions are available for MSc and PhD students along these research areas.
