Research interests: analysis and design of reinforced masonry and structures; nonlinear modeling; seismic engineering; large-scale system and component testing; innovative materials; structural simulation; damage mitigation. Dr. Cruz-Noguez is the current chairholder of the MCAA Endowed Chair of Masonry Structures, with the mandate to drive innovation in masonry research and to develop safer, more durable, and high-performance masonry systems.
